If it's not broken. . . upgrade

Thursday, September 21, 2006 | Max

Danieal Manning has been named starter this week at free saftey over Chris Harris. I like this move. At first I was a little shaky, like the old saying goes "If it's not broken, don't fix it". But then last year I disagreed with the benching of Mike Green in favor of Harris and i was 100% wrong on that one. And Manning has shown alot of good stuff when he has gotten in, a pick and hes broken up some passes, while Harris seems like he is just trying to do to much.

We should get a good idea on how Manning will be these next 2 weeks with 2 quality opponents in the Vikings and Seahawks. Both teams are commited to the run which is where i think Manning needs the most work.

Side note: Sportscenter did a piece on Rex this evening. I can't remember Sportscenter focusing a piece on any member of the Bears offense other than Olin's ass kicking of Fred Miller last year. I havent stopped grinning for the past 3 hours. Oh why can't it be Sunday yet?

Its good for both of the kids to get game experience once mike brown goes down........ Sorry to be pessimistic, but you know its gonna happen..... A side note on Sexy Rexy, the pride of Bloomington, Indiana......Rumor had it (back when he had sense enough to agree to get "coached up" by steve superior instead of wasting his time playing ball at i.u.) that this guy loves him some cocaine..... And check out those nostrils...They look a little eroded to me...... Being a straight oat soda and ganja man myself i don't know how this might affect his performance.... Its a good thing the weathers gonna eventually get shitty...I get nervous when he starts flingin' the rock around...Although with a lifetime of conditioning myself into accepting that a 9-25, 200 yard no int game by a bears q.b. was a good start this 4 touchdown stuff.. must be the same feeling 55 year old dudes get the first time they pop 3 viagra .....Viva Steve Stenstrom!!!. but with K.O. cranking it up a notch (now that he's 3rd string you know those bloody-marys/mimosas are flowing every sunday morning) and correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Brian Griese the ex-bronco that got loaded, tripped over his dog, fell down the stairs and missed time?????

That's why this split running back shit could haunt us.... And mark my words, if Cedric Benson can somehow manage to blow out his knee this week in the HomoDome I'm buying the whole pub a round....and bears games start at 10 a.m. out west......
Why the hell did they draft this schlep in the first place.....he shaves his dreadlocks (lame) crys like a bitch after getting drafted 4th.....and the simple fact is ADRIAN fuckin' PETERSON can ball....... You're telling me he couldn't produce as a change of pace back???
Don't worry my fellow Ditka-ites if we go down this week.....Seems like we never play well up there..Although 3-0 against the division clinches the 4 seed as far as I'm concerned...and we'll smoke their ass in the return leg in December....... And any team that features Brad johnson and Chester Taylor in prominent roles is gonna max out at 10-6
Stomping the Seabags on Sunday night is what its all about.... Take them out, and I don't see how we don't run the table at home.....
Excuse me thats my Dick Jauron-Frisco-Miami-Tampa-Vikes-
Farve's last game.......but that's a whole 'nother post....

I think Manning is better suited to playing alongside Brown than Harris was. Someday, Harris will be a good in-the-box safety with Manning roaming deep. Maybe loudog's pessimism about Brown's health is contagious.

Oh, and the Vikings are not that good. The Bears should beat them farily soundly. But for self-destruction by the Redskins and Panthers, the Vikings could easily be 0-2.

any one else think that ayanbadejo could do a better job than hillenmyer at the strong side position? he's ripped, quick and an absolute athlete and im hoping he plays well and keeps hillenmeyer (who i do like) as a backup, we could really use some linebacker depth. i cant wait for fast tommie to bust through that huge ass o-line on sunday

I fully expect us to draft a badass fast linebacker who Urlacher will teach and make into an even more incredible badass than he already is....i really thought that Briggsy was gone after this year, and yeah he probably will be, but watching him on the field having so much fun with that defense....Im holding out hope that whatever our best offer is he will take, I mean fuck, we are Chicago, can he find a better football town or city to party in???
