I shall do nothing but read what people have to say about the team I've loved my whole life. Because for the first time since they won the game to prove, I actually believe the Chicago Bears are the best team in the National Football League.
A couple more thoughts on this team:
Bernard Berrian is the most serious deep threat in Chicago since Willie Gault.
Alex Brown did a hell of a job against Walter Jones last night but Mark Anderson had another brilliant game. The guy has 3.5 sacks already. Not bad, Jerry Angelo, not bad at all.
Thomas Jones is starting to play like Thomas Jones again.
Tommie Harris is not only the best player on the Chicago Bears. He may be one of the five best players in the league.
Robbie Gould is money. Flat-out money. As a matter of fact, I want to have sexual relations with Robbie Gould.
I laid a challenge to Charles "Peanut" Tillman. And you answered it...Ricky Manning, Jr.
No doubt about it...Rex Grossman is the MVP right now.
#2 Noah said . . .I absolutely agree with all those observations. The only area for improvement I see is the running game. Yeah, they had a pretty good night, but a lot of that was grind-em-down yards in the second half. The fact that they're still shuffling Benson in there shows you that the coaches think they ought to be getting more on the ground than they are. I'll be much happier when TJ can bust those ten-yarders on the first couple drives, and not just in the third quarter.

#3 Robbie Gould said . . .All I could think about in the third/fourth quarter yesterday was "this is not a defense I'd want to face if they knew what I was going to do." If the offense can keep putting a few points on the board, the defensive line gets to have some real fun.
Jerry should get a little credit for drafting Tommie too, shouldn't he? And that Manning Jr. pickup doesn't look bad either.

#5 Jim said . . .tommie was a no-brainer though. alex brown, mark anderson, trading booker for wale, drafting tank in the same tommie draft...he's crafted this thing beautifull with lovie.

#6 jeff said . . .How 'bout that Mark Anderson?
Richard Dent with good teeth.
Cedrik is starting to look like a big mistake but who really gives a shit.

#7 Kyle said . . .i just really don't like the look in benson's eyes...he doesn't have fire...no intensity...thomas jones looks like he wants it.

#8 jeff said . . .Isnt it hillarious how Mark Anderson in spot duty has 2 more sacks than Mario Williams? When Goony is gone he'll make a great replacement...though what do you think of him at outside linebacker? 6' 4" 255, he has almost exactly Urlachers frame.

#9 max said . . .is jerry angelo going to get this briggs contract done soon? every week lance looks better and better.

#10 jeff said . . .Jerry is sticking to his contract negotiation policy. It wont happen until later in the season. While it doesn't make me happy, at least he is consistent in what he does and with everyone he deals with

#11 max said . . .yeah meanwhile lance briggs will become the best middle linebacker in new england patriots history

#12 jeff said . . .Who ya kidding? Pats won't shell out that type of money for him. Totally be the Redskins

#13 Kyle said . . .fun fact: so far this season, bears opponents have scored 29 points. the 85 bears allowed 28 on opening day to tampa bay.

#14 Dave said . . .wow, so when do we start talking about this being a better defense than 85?

If the Bears don't go undefeated this year, they suck. Thay have biggest cream puff, pussy schedule in the league. Detriot, Minnesota, Green Bay, all twice. Then pussy teams like Miami, San Fran, the Cards, Jets, TB. etc. Man you loud mouth blow hard mother f'ers should go undefeated with this soft schedule. Shit, no wonder your defense look so good. Because your playing this candy ass schedule.
Oh well, you'll still find a way to fuckin blow it.
