65-59-3 after a solid 9-5 week that could have been 10-4 if Oakland's offense were bad instead of the worst thing I've ever seen on a sports field.
First, CONGRATULATIONS TO RUTGERS FOOTBALL! THE KNIGHTS HAVE FINALLY ARRIVED! Greg Schiano, former Bears defensive backs coach, is the most impressive coach in sports right now.
CHICAGO BEARS +2.5 OVER NEW YORK GIANTS
Why do I like the Bears this week?
1. I always like the Chicago Bears.
2. No Osi and Strahan means the Bears won't have to double team the Giant defensive ends. We've said Bradley and Rash would fill-in for Bernie. Look for Des Clark to have a big game.
3. You know something about Rex Grossman? He's never had back-to-back bad games as a pro.
4. I love the Bears defense Sunday night because I love a bunch of angry young guys rebounding off three Joey Harrington touchdown passes.
5. Yes there's five! PBurr deciding to call out the Bears secondary...not wise. Look for Ricky Manning to nerd the shit out of him and In Todd We Trust to take a couple free shots.
6. Bears 23, Giants 10

SAN DIEGO -1.5 OVER CINCINNATI

#2 jeff said . . .I don't think I have been this nervous for a football game in years. If we blow this one in front of a national TV audience against the second best team in the NFC our confidence might be so shot we may end up 10-5 or worse. I just hope we can settle down early and keep it a tight game..The giants defense is beyond decimated so hopefully Rex can take advantage of that but so far he has not endeared my trust and faith..until then I will be shitting bricks

#4 Chad said . . .Sure, Rex has not had a good road show game. But thats not how these guys think. Instead the think:
This is not a chance for failure but an opportunity for success! The Bears will wade into them, spill their blood, give them a blood nose. Smash face foootball!

i'll be there tonight, headed with a buddy from work (i'm in CT) who's a big giants fan.
apparently lots of rain in the forecast, not too cold though (high 50s). should make things interesting, i don't like anything that encourages the giants to run tiki more but i would enjoy the bears actually RUNNING the ball at times other than when they're running clock in a blowout.
i'm very nervous, my first bears game since the champaign debacle.
i'll be back in 7 days to see the bears go to 2-0 in the meadowlands. very pumped!! i'll have my orange bears poncho on.

#9 Anonymous said . . .I'll be sweating it out at home in front of my big screen TV. Man, we HAVE to stop Barber... Perhaps I need a bit more Guinness before the start of the game, or Xanax. I am pretty keyed up as well. My husband says he can help me out with that, what does that mean??
GO BEARS!!

Observation: So then Rex could suck every third game and you would consider that good? Average? I guess I don't understand.

#11 jeff said . . .Total elation is all I can feel right now.
A single, encouraging observation -- it was great to see Rex bounce back, bigtime, after throwing an INT and otherwise looking crappy in most of the 1st half. Even better, he threw some really good passes under pressure. Here's to hoping he stays on it.
