My picks have been so mediocre lately, it's unfair for me to dedicate an entire column to them. So we'll play a game. YOU guess the final score of Sunday's game, you win a guest column next Wednesday during the lead-up to the showdown at Foxboro.
Here are the rules:
1. Guess the score in the comments and breakdown the game.
2. The person who nails the EXACT score will win the column on our award-winning site.
3. If no one nails the score, I'll look at the scores and the breakdowns and choose the winner.
72-68-3 on the picks. Here's this week: Bears -6.5, Baltimore -4.5, St. Louis +6.5, Pittsburgh -3.5, Indianapolis -1.5, Green Bay +5.5, Oakland +9.5, Miami -3.5, Tennessee +12.5, San Francisco +6.5, Denver -2.5, Jacksonville -3.5, Houston -2.5, Washington +3.5, Detroit +2.5
Good luck. If you pick the Jets and they win, never come back here.

First notice the general awesomeness of it. Ahhh...
Then notice how often he takes catches he shouldn't as well as go backwards. He needs to learn what he can't get away with at this level.November 17, 2006
#4 Midway Monster said . . .That last one was absolutely incredible. I don't care if he takes alot of risks, as long as he doesn't cough it up, he can run backwards, sideways whatever. The last run on that clip shows that the risks are worth the reward.

The bears will get a second consecutive good game from Rex Grossman who will throw for 2 scores. Thomas Jones will end up around the 100 yard mark in rushing and Benson will see significant time with 15 carries and 60 yards. Mark Bradley WILL be a factor. The defense plays solid and somehow Tillman will be a factor with a pick or forced fumble or recovery. Thats the breakdown. GO BEARS and hopefully I win the guest column, I would love it.

Gameplan:
After the D stops the Jets on their first drive, Hester will climb into the stands to catch a wind-aided punt, and return it for a TD for a total of 135 yards, a new NFL record. He will then refuse to give anyone his jersey. At halftime, 54 will impregnate 3 members of the crowd and a cotton candy vendor. He will later say he couldn't do it without the help of the D-line.
Robbie will kick two more FGs even after he ruptures his spleen on a roughing the kicker play. Though pasty and waifish, he'll take a few shots of Bushmills and keep playing (unlike some pussies).

Soon-to-be-Pro-Bowler Roberto Gould will go 5-6 in field goals. (I'm rooting for him to miss at this point, because i want him to make his last 15 and i'm afraid perfection is impossible)
We add a touch to the 5 Gould gems. The Jets muster 10 somehow (this is the NFL after all) and 9-1 is in hand.
Can you believe 9-1? I literally skipped a couple of years there because of disgust at the front office and Wanney and Jauron. I am in heaven since Lovey took over.
Winning seasons mean veiwing opportunities to us in the less-than-greater-metro Chicago area (Iowa).
Da Beloved have the goods this year for me and Dirty Sanchez to watch every game. Nothing could be finer.

#9 said . . .After watching that Pats-Jets last week, I do have to say I'm a bit scared. The Jets are a fantastically well coached team, and are now in the race for the playoffs/division. Just by not making mistakes and having good game plans you are better than half the teams in the NFL. Sad but true.
I think the Bears will have trouble protecting Rex after seeing what the Jets did to Brady, and I'm a huge subscriber to the idea that if Rex has time he's fantastic, and otherwise panics.
However, I do have to say that the underrated moment of last week's game was Grossman NOT throwing up a ball as he was about to be sacked twice in the second half. As the Meadowlands erupted around me, and the Giants did their idiotic jump-shot move, I was actually rather happy that I could see him show some restraint for once (and then twice). I think this is the key. Because if the Bears turn the ball over two times or less, I don't think they can be beat.
I don't think they'll turn it over more than twice, and the D will create their usual turnovers.
Bears 24, Jets 16. It will be closer than the score indicates.

I see a pick 6 by Urlacher on the first play from the Jets.... This sets the tone of the rest of the day... On the next possesion the Chad gets ripped in half by Briggs.... Look for Roberto to be 2-2 in the kicking game. TJ will run for a TD and 130. Ced will run for a TD and bout 40yds. Rex will throw for 215yds and 2TD's and no pickles..... See Ya'll at the game!! GO BEARS!!
