Tank continues to stupify me

Saturday, December 16, 2006 | Max

Tank and his "bodyguard" Willie Posey (his roommate that was busted with 2 and a half ounces of pot and a gun) went to a club last night and around 1 a.m. Posey was fatally shot. Tank is being viewed as a witness. This is after Tank apologized to his family and teammates earlier for being arrested. And after Jerry Angelo chewed him out.

670 "The Score" has people already betting on Tank being gone once the off season arrives, if he makes it that far.

I like Tank despite his stupidity and i would like to see him return but something tells me i might be in the minority here

My family moved from north of Chicago when I was 11 but I have some questions:

What kind of place is Gurnee that they send a Swat team on a raid like this one?

Did Andy give Barney his bullet?

What's Tanks history with Posey? Is he some childhood friend or something? Was Tank acting like the proverbial Irish mother?

What kind of place is the nightspot where the shooting went down? Is this a place where you go looking for trouble?

I must admit I'm stunned, as a fan, by all of this. Maybe there's a good explanation for all of this on Tanks part, or maybe he is an idiot. I want to believe the latter, but that's probably because I'm a Bears fan and they won't win in the playoffs if they can't stop the run.

As a Bears fan for over 25 years, I am very discouraged. I hope that Tank isn't a street thug and that he just made a bad decision. Or should I say decisions. Even though I also want the Bears to stop the run, I also want to be proud to tell my kids that we are Bears fans. As Jerry Angelo said, it is character that counts over talent. I have to agree. We might see Tank gone before the playoffs start.

I just don't get it either.

After the events that occured last week, you'd expect Tank to lay low and let things blow over instead of being out "clubbing" and watching his bodyguard get shot up.

This is a shame, too, with Harris out for the season -- we could have really used Johnson.

it seems the Ice Bar is a popular nightspot for Bears players. I wonder who else was there.

Do you think Walter Payton or Mike Singletary would be out clubbing at 1:30 am and have their entourage get involved in a shooting?

I guess you can't just be happy making millions of dollars and playing for pro football.

Maybe we don't want to know if any other Chicago Bears were there.

Ya know ive been commenting on this issue in the other blogs and this is my first blog experience because i felt so strongly about the raid because if they can do something like that to him that would give cause to raid almost anybody the cops can blast a door open and have misdeminor charges worthy of a $100 bond at that point no one would be safe .. but now .I dont know anymore. old boy is into something and the cops know it .. RIP W.P. and S.S.
