I am sick to my stomach and just don't care for anything I just watched on television. Should they start Rex in two weeks? Should they play Griese? Is the defense any good?
I have no answers to any of these questions. I just know they look terrible. Nothing surprises me now.
MORNING AFTER HANGOVER UPDATE
Still sucks. I'm not ready to bury them, my fatal flaw again resurfacing. I believe in the Chicago Bears.

#10 District Selectman said . . .This team lacks grace and integrity. There's more wrong with this team than just our quarterback. The team as a whole lacks focus. We were beat because we deserve to be beat. Every player counts and should be held accountable. Then again, I forget bears are related to cubs. Wait until next year.

Cedric was awesome, and as #8 'TonyT' said 'Time for Ortmann to come in and handoff 60 times!!'
Too bad that just won't work. The score would be lower as we would only be beaten maybe 7-0 as there would be no interceptions.
I am not totally sure of the answer but I will say that Rex is not part of the solution.
Is it just me or has anyone in the NFL this year exhibited even partially the ineptitude of Rex playing like Rex?
Have the injuries to the team, the defense in particular, been that devastating that we are playing so bad, not even considering Rex?
This is not a good way to start off a new year.

I like getting on-line and checking up on the beloved and sometimes even commenting on them; but now I've got to endure 2 fucking weeks of hand-wringing, armchair quarterbacking and howls at the moon.
As a side note: did anybody listen to the Score's post game show yesterday? I was wondering if Buffone and OB had simultaneous aneurisms.
Anyway, we shall dance with the one that brought us, or however that goes.
Last time I checked we didn't go winless after Arizona, Miami or New England.
Sure I'm pissed that the fugepackers beat us at home last night and we sucked. But you know what? Today Favre isn't taking two weeks to get ready for the post-season. He's getting his fucking ankle operated on. So the cheesheads can pat themselves all they want because they beat us in our last preseason game before the post-season and then they can get back to shoving cheese curds up their asses.
I guess I'll be doing something else on-line for the next two weeks. Is there anything on-line these days besides the Bears?

#18 Pissed Off said . . .I liked your comments jdawg, we are still playing in two weeks and the Packers are going home.
Should Rex be benched? I would say no, and I said no even before Griese tossed a pick last night, but that still doesn't mean we can't jump all over him and demand better.
What will give me solace the next two weeks is that no team in the NFC is dominating and the Bears have just as much a chance to win than anyone else. Also, for the past 15 years, we have sniffed the playoffs only a few times, so let's get pumped for the next playoff game.
Finally, these are not the 85 Bears. For crying out loud, let's give it a rest and stop expecting this team to dominate. Rex is struggling, no surprises; we have injuries on defense, we won't have 3 and out each series. It's not going to be pretty, so get out your antacid or a bottle of Captain Morgan's, whatever works and enjoy the ride.

#20 paytonrules said . . .Two weeks ago I said in a blog that Grossman would never take the Bears to the supre bowl. He proved it last night. He needs to mature and be able to handle his emotions, but will still have problems, he is a slow thinker, it will take him at least three years to become instinctive. Then he will still have churning emotions. I don't think the Bears should bother with him. He will never have the value they need in a quarterback. When he came through when his job was on the line, I thought he would make it, but I was wrong. At the first of the year Greese looked really good, but the inaction left a lot of rust on him. He should be taking all the practice snaps under center, and go with him the rest of the way. Then we will have a chance for the Superbowl, if all the returning guys get to play all the rest of the games. Rex has confidence in himself, but it is misplaced. Marvin E. Frisbie Fris.

#21 Fred said . . .I don't care who we play in the first round - we should be underdogs, and we are going to lose.
The last 8 weeks of the season this has been a very different team than the first 8 weeks. They just aren't very good. It's too bad, because they had a shot this year, and it's gone.

#26 jdawg said . . .You know Timothy you're pathetic trash talking would mean a lot more if:
The Packers weren't 8-8 (5 games behind the Bears in the standings)
The Bears hadn't whipped the Packers and made them like it at the beginning of the season.

Your QB wasn't a raving drug addict with a predilection for cousin-fucking.

OK Packer fans.
The Packers are the greatest team in the NFL. As of now the playoffs and the super bowl are just to see who comes in #2 behind them. I forgot that beating a 13-3 team and going 8-8 is exactly what it takes to showcase the Lombardi trophy.
my bad.
BTW, when is the parade up there? Is Favruh postponing his surgery so he can attend? It must be awesome not having to say "wait until next year" because you know what, next year is now. In two weeks, when I am sitting in front of my TV wishing the Bears are still playing while being in awe of the awesome-o-ness that is the Packers I may even shed a tear for the season that might have been.
At night I will lay in bed, terrorized by the rumble that is Bubba Franks as he heads to the end zone for a game winning score. I will hear the whistle of a Farvruh pass as it arcs, heavenward, 60 yards down the field, into the arms of Donald Driver, because that is the only outcome of a Farvruh-tossed ball.
I will cry that A.J. Hawk won over a blind Laura Dern instead of me.
Truly, January is Packers month. How do you plan to celebrate it?

#29 bitter...very bitter said . . .Jdawg, that was a sweet post. I think Timothy is a closet Bears fan, as what loser would be posting messages on a Bears site who is a Packers fan?
Let all the Packers fans gloat about winning a meaningless Week 17 game. I believe that last year, when it counted we kicked their ass in Green Bay. Oh, and when it mattered, we kicked their ass in Green Bay this year.
I respect Favre, he's a great QB. I don't respect stupid fans. Any real fan would want his or her team playing in the playoffs.
January 1, 2007
#30 The Pack is Back said . . .I don't understand Packers' fans. My old man is a Packer fan (Me a Bear fan...in therapy for my disdain and hate for my father) and he was gloating last night...then I reminded him...once Favre goes the franchise is done! They won in the 90's and now because of him...think of how great the packers were in the 80's and 70's. WOOOOOHOOOOO! The Packers live and die with Bart Starr and Favre, thats it. They haven't done shit without them, so I will enjoy our playoff games as the Packers fall to futility with the likes of a great QB in the way of Aaron Rogers!.....Good luck! and BEAR DOWN.....CHEER UP BITCHES!

#31 Dave said . . .The Bears would be better off snapping the ball into thin air, having their opponent recovering and letting their defense score some points for them...oops! I forgot. The defense sucks too now. I guess the only answer is to see if the NCAA will let them play in their league.
