Here's a look at some stuff happening in the Bears universe...
TOMMIE HARRIS apparently won't stop talking about bringing Donovan McNabb to Chicago and Oedipus Rex is none too pleased with his comments. I don't want Donovan. You don't want Donovan. That's all there is to say about it.
CHRIS BROWN is currently all over the Bears radar. The signing was put another body in the backfield but he's far too similar in style to Benson's bruising back. The Bears will have a nice 1-2 combination with Benson and AP. Brown would seemingly provide only insurance should Benson hit the DL for any extended period of time.
JEFF HUGHES (of me fame) will be in Edison tomorrow for Mike Ditka's speech and press conference. Hopefully I'll do the loyal readers of this site proud and get Ditka to say something completely inappropriate. Lame as it may be for member of the journalistic community, I'll certainly be trying to get a photo with him and hope to have it on this site by Wednesday.
DECEMBER 2ND looks like the target date for our annual trip to Chicago to see the Giants come to town. If we can set it up and any of ya'll show interest, we could throw together a Saturday night site party at Rossi's on North State. Be cool to get liquored up with some of you...although Pissed Off could be a real angry drunk.

Jeff, I was raised up near Edison. In fact, I attended and graduated from NJIT in down town Newark.
Not sure how safe them parts of NJ are these days, but back in the day they were pretty tough.

Now for the Chris Brown situation, why are we involved in this? The last time I checked we have CB, AP, and G.Wolfe! I'm wondering if AP's time on offense is over, and he will be a ST player from now on. Since we're looking at Brown.
I believe we have three quality backs, let's not spend money on a unproven running back. As most critics in Chicago think, we have a unproven back now in Ced. I do not agree with that statement, in week four we will be thinking "Thomas who?"

#9 Pissed off said . . .Yeah, I'm happy with what we have until someone gets hurt. Last year if TJ had gotten hurt we had Benson and AP. Which was little drop off if any. This year if Benson gets hurt we have AP and a very small rookie named Wolfe. He may be a good player, but there are legit concerns about him, and he is a rookie.
Brown rushed for a thousand yards with the Titans, and has more break away speed than either Ced or AP so he'd be a good pick up. If nothing else for insurance, and he would compete with Peterson for the #2 spot.June 18, 2007

I'll say this: I want Chris Brown about as much as I want McNugget. Brown was a kick ass back a few years ago and then he was hurt but for a large portion of last year he was simply deactivated on a week to week basis mainly cuz he sucked, if my memory is correct. If we could get the Chris Brown from about 3 years ago, I'll take him but not the one of last year. That would be one of those one-year deals, small contract, low risk type of thing.
And regarding my being an angry drunk, I take offense to that. I probably soften up if anything, I'm a lover not a fighter. I just love debating, arguing, etc. I LOVE IT.

Except maybe DTB, who believes anytime we talk about an offensive player, it means Rex is awful. Why is Tommie Harris running his mouth? He should know by now that anything he says will be reported, and anything like that is going to cause a distraction...and I think we've had enough of those for one offseason.
