Game Day

Sunday, September 30, 2007 | Jeff

It feels like the postseason today. It was one of those mornings when the moment my eyes opened, I was up...and thank God that happened at 6:40 am. I was lucky enough last night to see Kelly Pavlik fight his head off and knock out Jermaine Taylor. Now ESPNU is re-running my high school alma mater (St. Peter's Prep in Jersey City, NJ) vs. North Bergen from Friday night. The next three hours before doors open at Josie Woods are going to be brutal.

Win today, boys. Just win. Be aggressive on offense. Be aggressive on defense. The guys suiting up might not be what yoou intended three weeks ago, but they're still professional athletes. Get after it and knock these Lions on their asses. Today is the playoffs. Today is your season. Get to 2-2 and march into Lambeau with momemtum.

Win today, boys. Just win. Bear down.

On NFL.com, they are reporting that Calvin Johnson is inactive for today's game.

No word on who is out for the Bears.

Only way to cure this hangover is with more beer and some BEARSssss football.

Good news? Tommie Harris will play, with NO Calvin Johnson. (Am I right?)

Bad News? No Briggs, Vasher, Tillman OR Archuleta today.

If the Bears can get after Kitna (doesn't he look like a white supremacist?) then they have a good shot at winning this game.

Bears: 20
Lions: 17

Bear Down.

Thank you Brian Griese for your 2 INT's inside the 10 yard line.

When will we ever get a QB who wont give the other team points?

IT'S A REALLY SAD DAY, FRIENDS AND CHRISTIANS! BUT THE BEARS ARE REALLY BAD RIGHT NOW. I DONT THING THE INJURIES ARE THE WHOLE ISSUE. OBVIOUSLY, WE HAVE A REAL COACHING ISSUE WITH RON TURNER. HE SIMPLY IS NOT CAPABLE OF LETTING GO! I THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO HAVE A BETTER OFFENSE THIS YEAR. THIS IS NOW THE WORST BEAR TEAM I HAVE EVER SEEN AND I AN VERY MATURE!!! IT IS REALLY SAD. GET RID OF TURNER AND ANGELO AND PLEASE PLEASE LET OWNERSHIP WAKE UP AND REALIZE THEY EARN THEIR WEALTH FROM US!!! BEFORE WE LEAVE THEM! THEY NO LONGER DESERVE LOYALTY. IN ALL MY YEARS OF ROOTING FOR THE BEARS I HAVE ONLY GOTTEN PAYBACK ONE TIME!!! NOT A VERY GOOD FRANCHISE

We are the suk.

We had this game, if not for just plain stupid turnovers. We are killing ourselves on offense, and just can't afford that. The D played way above expectation today given the injuries, but they can only do so much.

Griese over Grossman? Maybe, to me, he made a lot of the same bonehead mistakes and crappy throws. I'll give him a bye as it's his first game in two years. If he doesn't do better next week...well, Orton? Griese probably has until the Bye week to show he can do something.

Later on season! Yeah GRIESE! 2 fucking redzone INTs and one more INT run back for a TD? You ARE the short term answer!!! Begin the "Brian is our quarterback" recordings, Lovie....great fucking Sunday boys...

So Green Bay is 4-0, Detroit is 3-1, and there we are! Bears! Hey at least we helped set a record for most points in a 4th quarter.

I'm personally topping off my wonderful Sunday with a hot bath, some razor blades, and a bottle of Jack.
