Bears Unveil New-Look-Like-Shit Offense

July 31, 2008 | | Onion Sports

BOURBONNAIS, IL—The Chicago Bears put on a display of inaccurate passing, sluggish route running, and careless ball-handling Wednesday as the team exhibited their new-look-like-shit offense to fans and media attending training camp to view a full-squad practice. "We finally have the personnel to implement a game plan of high-percentage incomplete passes, completed passes of four yards or less, and a rushing attack that lets us lose control of the game clock with complex plays that take forever to develop and generate negative yardage," offensive coordinator Ron Turner said, explaining why the Bears abandoned the "West-Coast-My-Fat-Ass" offense they ran last year. "I'm confident that both Rex Grossman and Kyle Orton possess the ability to overthrow a receiver on a deep fly pattern or find an open defender and deliver the ball with laser-like precision, so we'll be switching between them often and at random intervals to avoid either one getting into a rhythm or developing any confidence." According to Turner, the offense is starting to malfunction as a cohesive unit and has shown much more consistency at blowing assignments, missing blocks, and fumbling snaps.

I was hoping farve would stay on the packers this year because that would probably mean brohm would be starting next year. Rogers would be on a different team and farve would finally retire for good, until he changes his mind.

Hilarious. I had friends from Wisconsin texting me about how their boy is back in camp and believing that there was no way The Pack would not end up with Favre as their starting QB again this year.

I am waiting to respond until after Favre doesn't say anything about not reporting to the Jets but tomorrow will be a fun day full of texting Packer friends about their dumb ass organization. They were a frozen INT away form the SB last season and run their Hall of Fame QB out of town for who knows what in Rodgers.

Thank goodness he did not end up in Minny. Scary. This is great news.

#11 Z said . . .

And my friends here in Tampa are crushed. I was hoping we might end up with another QB out of this deal but I agree no Pennington or Lemons. Give Rex his last full opportunity this season. If he sucks we need to draft our way into a QB or maybe trade for Quinn during the year if Cleveland is in it and needs something we have an abundunce of.

As already stated what we need desperately is O-LINE and we need it now. Overpay a little for Bentley, send a limo or jet or helicopter to pick up Ruben Brown and apologize to him. We need any kind of depth. Metcalf who most of us on here are terrified of having in our starting line up is out with a little scope of the knee. Not good.

YES!!! There is a God! And he did not allow Favre to play for Da Bears. More importantly, now the weak ones on here can finally take their heads out of their collective asses and stop pining for this asshole to lead our team!

Honestly though, I think Favre is screwed. There are no open wheatfields in Jersey for him to frolic with his golden retrievers and toss the pigskin around with his boys there. I don't even think they sell Wranglers in Jersey.

Also, I like Chad somewhat as a QB with a limited arm, but I don't think I like him on this Bears team. He should find a home somewhere else.

Agreed on not getting Pennington for the same reasons I didn't want Garcia. They both have weak arms and aren't long term answers.
I think we need to roll with the qb's we have and focus on making a blockbuster move for a o-lineman. I'm rather concerned about this.

Slightly off topic:

I just got really pissed when I read a post on the bears home page. Someone asked Mayer about Okwo's performance so far in camp. Larry said he looks like a long shot to make the team.

How awful were those 2007 middle-round picks by Angelo?! Bazuin, Okwo and Wolfe- are you kidding me?

Angelo has certainly hit on some middle and late round picks, but overall, I think his drafting is keeping this franchise below where it could be.

I am so down on this team right now....Bah Humbug!

What about that depressed Guard from Philadelphia that hasn't been to camp yet. We could get him some treatment, anti-depressants, maybe change of scenery, money, women, men, whatever he needs. Wow am I concerned about our line situation or what.

Hey Al, as it gets closer I'll remind you, maybe we can get together for a bit at Alary's and I can buy you a woodpecker cider (or your beverage of choice, thats just mine at Alary's since I cant find it anywhere in ND and I crave it constantly). Anyway have fun there, always good scenery if nothing else. Cant wait for tonight, kinda past my bedtime but maybe I'll suck it up, I'll probably just DVR it and watch it in an hour tomorrow.

okwo's a long shot to make the team because of jerry's other great mid-round picks - don't forget that. we were drafting coming off a super bowl.

Doesn't anybody got any good Bears pre season stories? I got two that I like....one...remember the time Joe Odom came running like a bat out of hell on I think a kickoff and he came flying in and ran right into the opponent with the ball, I think he tackled him, but it wasn't really wrapping the guy up or anything, just ran right into him. He got kind of banged up...but it was too funny I was cracking up. Another story....my brother's boy...Idonije just came in the game...and he's at defensive end. Now you know most defensive ends put their hand that is not on the turf back behind them, well Idonije has his hand so damn far up in the air (like straight up) that it just looked awesome.

Hope that wasn't too weird.

I also watched a video where Adam Schefter explained that if the Jets were to trade Brett to Minnesota they would have to give up THREE FIRST ROUND PICKS to the pack!! and if brett takes 80% of the snaps and goes to the superbowl(yeah, right,) they get a first round pick, if he takes i think 70% and makes the playoffs, a second round pick. and if he takes 50% of the snaps a 3rd round pick. Any other scenario will get the pack a fourth round pick

What I'm really looking forward to is Favre having to deal with the entitled NY fans and accompanying media when he throws a game-losing INT rather than the Wisconsin "just happy to be here" crowd.

He might cry. Again.

I dont hate Kyle Orton, his neckbeard is troubling but, I dont hate the guy. I dont particualrily like him either but whatever. Still, having Anytime shout obscenitites at his dumbass is OK by me. Tell him when he smiles he looks like a smug Joker from Batman who's stoned. I'm sure the guy is a hippie anyway. And do some gesture or yell something that resembles his drunk bird-flipping pictures that leaked out his rookie year. If your going to the game wear that #8 proudly, as I do every Sunday and will be Nov 30th at the metrodome. Get a feel for the fans and let me know what the majority are thinking. Let me know tomorrow just how bad the boos are and if they really hate the guy and want Orton to be the starter or what. The only guage I have is whats written in the papers and surveys I've seen since I'm from afar.

Tonight, when I'm sitting in section 152, row 6, seat 2, I am going to have to watch guys this team pretty much signed off the street play the O line. Anthony Oakley? Tyler Reed? Protecting the Blind side!? I myself am a left guard, and I know alot of pressure is put on the men guarding the QB's blind side. Is this going to be another ankle breaker for rex when he comes in with the second team line no less? JA needs to get his head out of his ass and pull the trigger already.

VIAGRA is prescribed to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). rnIMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION BELOW. rnDo not take VIAGRA if you take nitrates, often prescribed for chest pain, as this may cause a sudden, unsafe drop in blood pressure. rnDiscuss your general health status with your doctor to ensure that you are healthy enough to engage in sexual activity. If you experience chest pain, nausea, or any other discomforts during sex, seek immediate medical help. rnIn the rare event of an erection lasting more than 4 hours, seek immediate medical help to avoid long-term injury. rnIf you are older than age 65, or have serious liver or kidney problems, your doctor may start you at the lowest dose (25 mg) of VIAGRA. If you are taking protease inhibitors, such as for the treatment of HIV, your doctor may recommend a 25 mg dose and may limit you to a maximum single dose of 25 mg of VIAGRA in a 48-hour period. rnIn rare instances, men taking PDE5 inhibitors (oral erectile dysfunction medicines, including VIAGRA) reported a sudden decrease or loss of vision. It is not possible to determine whether these events are related directly to these medicines or to other factors. If you experience sudden decrease or loss of vision, stop taking PDE5 inhibitors, including VIAGRA, and call a doctor right away. rnSudden decrease or loss of hearing has been rarely reported in people taking PDE5 inhibitors, including VIAGRA. It is not possible to determine whether these events are related directly to the PDE5 inhibitors or to other factors. If you experience sudden decrease or loss of hearing, stop taking VIAGRA and contact a doctor right away.If you have prostate problems or high blood pressure for which you take medicines called alpha blockers, your doctor may start you on a lower dose of VIAGRA. rnVIAGRA should not be used with other treatments that cause erections. VIAGRA should not be used with REVATIO as REVATIO contains sildenafil, the same medicine found in VIAGRA. rnVIAGRA does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV. rnThe most common side effects of VIAGRA are headache, facial flushing, and upset stomach. Less commonly, bluish vision, blurred vision, or sensitivity to light may briefly occur.

I would definitely recommend seeing the RE and asking about this kind of testing. There may be things you can do naturally to boost your own follicle development if you have the patience to try. Natural options tend to take longer to work. I havent done a lot of research here, but am doing acupuncture right now and beginning to read some more about options. I have done 6 clomid cycles with excellent follicle development, but no pregnancies and 4 injectibles/IUI cycles with a pregnancy on the last one which ended in m/c with development stopping at 9 weeks. Im now going back for one more injectibles cycle before another short break to let acupuncture work some more. Hopefully my reading will shed some light on other good natural options, but I cant offer any other suggestions at the moment. Youre not alone though! Good luck. You can take Clomid every day, at the same hour of the day but is preferred in the evenings. Why is this the best time to take Clomid? the doctor put me on Provera to start a period then clomid. This didnt work. I bled for a week then quit
