What say you now about Berrian, David Haugh? After he just fumbled away the Vike's season! Poetic justice.

pretty sorry that the bears the last two sundays have been resting, rooting for the cardinals and falcons, possibly the two worst historical franchises in the NFC. so many close games this year that could have let us control our own destiny....

GO FALCONS! thanks berrian, a drop and a muff already.

#18 Who's Laughing Now? said . . .

The Falcons are playing a bit like the Bears -- four turnovers but up by only 10 points. Letting the Vikes hang around and hang around. C'mon. Put the nail in the coffin now.

Jeff,

I've been knocking my wood all day long thinking about the Bears in the postseason.

The Falcons need to hold on...they have lost three guys on defense in just this series.

December 21, 2008

#26 Who's Laughing Now? said . . .

The only bad news is that the Vikings -- if it weren't for those four turnovers --- look really good. They look like a team that could beat the Giants. Let's hope for four more turnovers next week!!

I feel like I am watching a Bears team with this Falcons offense. They had such creative play calling in the first half and moved the ball well against the Vikings. Now they are just playing to run out the clock and the game is far from over. Back to back runs up the middle with a three and out and the Vikings offense has the ball back. The 4th down that they gave back with 12 men on the field may come back to bite them in the ass.

okay!!! can someone please explain the playoff scenario to my dumbass now? Too much shit just went down in the last 24 hrs. where do we stand? wildcard? NFC north???

Eagles Lose
Cowboys lose
Bucs lose

#30 Jakub said . . .

Everything below assumes the Bears win out...

1. If Minn loses next week to Giants, we're in.
2. If Minn wins and Phi beats Dallas and Tampa loses to whomever, I think we're in wildcard.

December 22, 2008

#31 The Duke said . . .

Thanks.
if we win MNF aren't we in the wildcard drivers seat now that ATL won.

December 22, 2008

#32 mikebdot said . . .

I'll be damned.

Dallas, Philly, Tampa, and Minny all losing. Sumbitch.

All we have to do is win two football games against mediocre teams. Then, all we would depend on would be Tampa losing to Oakland (yuck) and Dallas losing to Philly or Minny losing to the Giants. That is way better odds. Good times. One more day for my hopes to be dashed.

#33 NY Bears Fan said . . .

The Falcons are guaranteed the one wild card spot and the other one is between the eagles, bucs, cowboys and bears. The bucs have the tie-breaker over us so they would have to lose next week and they are playing the Raiders. I am not sure about the other teams. Basically the Bears have to win out and have either the Vikings lose next week or the Bucs and Cowboys lose as well for the wildcard. I am not sure if the Eagles control the tie breaker but they would have to win next week to keep themselves in it.

December 22, 2008

#34 Terry Bradshaw said . . .

If the Bears do not hold the tie breaker over the Cowboys....They have to win out ..they get in with a Minn lose as Division winners or as a wild card if TB and Dallas lose...corrrect me if this is not correct

December 22, 2008

#35 mikebdot said . . .

I'm still not sure about the whole Dallas thing. How does the tiebreak work out with them if we end up tied with them and Tampa actually loses to Oakland somehow?

today was the best thing that could happen for us. Now time to root for Carolina and hope that they piss the Giants off and that the Giants whip up on the Queens next week.

December 22, 2008

#38 Green Lantern said . . .

jakub is right....problem is that the "someone" the bucs play is the raiders....in tampa. unlikely.

but none of this matters until we BEAT THE PACK BY 20. just be happy the bears still have a pretty realistic shot at not just making the playoffs, but being the #3 seed! play the cowboys or bucs in chicago....i'll take it. two very beatable teams especially in the cold.

December 22, 2008

#39 NY Bears Fan said . . .

Now rooting for Carolina tonight to lay one on the Giants so they come out with something to prove next week!

let's be realistic here though. does anyone really think the Giants will come and and play next week regardless of what happens?

December 22, 2008

#43 Green Lantern said . . .

something else to think about....i get the feeling cowboys-eagles will be flexed to the sunday night game, so if the bears win twice, vikes win, bucs lose next sunday afternoon, we'll all be rooting our lungs out for donovan f. mcnabb....even though his eagles will be eliminated already if the bears win.... bizarre.

and who would the bears play in that scenario if the eagles win? get ready for a third game against the vikings up in that damn dome....

December 22, 2008

#44 jdawg said . . .

if it means home field throughout they will.

#45 BearDown1982 said . . .

Well, that was interesting. Atlanta made things interesting in the end, but held on.
Minny made way too many mistakes to win that game...Jackson still does not impress me at all. He seems to skidish in the pocket. Matt Ryan on the other hand looks like the real deal. That guy could be real good.

C'mon now Bears...make this count! Put the pressure on the Vikes for next week and get some revenge tomorrow night. If you gotta play in conditions as bad as they will be tomorrow...you might as well win the damn thing!
