Shut up.
I'm a fan of yours but I'm serious when I say this, Jerry. Shut up. When a reporter asks you a question, any question, turn to him and say "I don't know." Then get in your automobile and drive really fast in the other direction. Because at this point you're starting to sound less like a proud organization's general manager and more like a man trying to protect himself from the firing squad in ten months.
I DON'T WANNA HEAR...
...you explaining that coaching is going to be the singular thing to improve the defensive side of the ball while placing a ridiculous amount of pressure on the new defensive line coach. You paid Ogunleye. You paid Harris. And they both mailed in 2008. Maybe coaching is responsible for their poor play. In that case, you should fire the man that hired the coach.
..."Nathan Vasher needs to play better." Oh, does he Jerry? You mean "sucking" is not what you expected when you made the man rich? I always excused the Muhammad signing because he was a proven veteran that did not perform to expectations. Vasher was someone you rewarded prematurely and that impulsiveness landed us the most expensive dime corner in the game.
...Kyle Orton is, Kyle Orton isn't, Kyle Orton is, blah blah blah. If you wanted to criticize KO at the end of the season, you should have been definitive. "We're going to bring someone in to compete for the starting job in 2009." You weren't. People speculated. And the head coach had to come out a month later and confirm his role as the starter. Do you have any real say in this matter?
...your rhetoric. Maybe it works on reporters or morons but it ain't working here. This article has about ten different sentences that make me want to fist fight you. You want to know how to build a great football team? (1) Pick a good coach. (2) Assemble really good players. (3) Get some luck along the way.
Right now the Bears are 0-3.

These picks are supposed to be starter quality in the least right? That's why I think I would jump the gun and draft a guy a round early who is a ringer than bust out consistantly.
I'm just going to go over some of the picks as a therapy to release the frustration.
2003 Haynes and Rex in the 1rst followed by 2nd Tillman 3rd Briggs- Blowing it on 2 first rounders
2004 Harris at 14 was a solid pick but he was the first DT off the board. Then 2nd Tank the spank Johnsonin 3rd Berrian. Both are no longer on the team with no compensation in the losses= BUST picks.
2005 1st Cedric Benson 2nd Mark Bradley
no 3rd. Seriously look into the eightball idea!2006 no 1st 2nd Danieal Manning then Hester 3rd Dusty. Hester gives me hope, I like Dusty but not as a starter, and #42 for a nickel corner?
2007 1st Olsen another solid pick but he was the first TE picked because of the run the year before. He also blew away the others at the combine so no credit there. 2nd Dan Bauzin ? 3rd Wolfe and Okwo, isn't the third round a little early for special team players?
2008 1st Willams, I could slam this for his back problems but let's let him play for part of a season first. 2nd Fortte was a good selection 3rd Bennet, who knows? They had one of the worst WR corps in the NFL and this guy couldn't get on the feild?
Anybody else want to reveiw the joke that is his FA aquisitions and player losses?
One last thing. The reason the bucs are dropping sallery is to get Haynesworth. There goes that pipedream.

You thought the Bears receiving corps was bad last year, wait till this year. No Booker, no Lloyd, and numerous practice squad players.
Vasher sucks ass, he had one good year and since then hasn't done anything but stay injured. It's not only that he gets injured all time, but he takes so long to come back from an injury. I like Graham a lot more, he can actually play the run and is not afraid to hit someone.

Davis is a number 5 WR who will contribute on special teams and in a pinch if you have some injuries, not a number 3.

And why did we sign that scrub from Carolina again? To compete for a starting job? C'mon, thats ridunkulous. You all know how its going to go down on draft day. We will sign someone that we really dont need in that position, or we will sign someone with a bad back or drug problem. Right now, NO FA wants to play for the Bears, that really sucks. We are turning into the Bears of the early 80's where all we had was Sweetness. That didnt turn out too good until we got a REAL coach. Sorry Lovie, nice try. Warner is hoping to land a contract around in the range of the top five quarterbacks in the NFL -- $14 million to $16 million a year. He wants a two-year deal.
The Cardinals have offered $10 million to $12 million.
Talks have been amiable. Warner said he will retire if he doesn't play for the Cardinals.

#44 Z said . . .Fred Taylor’s run into the sunset took him straight to New England.
After visiting Buffalo and New England this week, Taylor decided to sign with the Patriots.
The agreement has been reached, Taylor is headed back to New England. After playing his first 11 NFL seasons with Jacksonville, he now is expected to finish his career as a Patriot.
The latest signing: Safety Yeremiah Bell has agreed to terms on a four-year deal worth $20 million, including $10 million guaranteed. Bell will play strong safety again this year and Gibril Wilson is expected to play free safety.
FB Tony Richardson signs with the Jets. It’s believed to be a one-year deal with $500,000 guaranteed, with New York keeping the dependable blocker and locker-room leader.
The Panthers tried trading cornerback Ken Lucas to the Detroit Lions. Problem is, once the two sides were engaged in discussions, Lucas let it be known that he did not and would not play in Detroit. Thus, trade talks were abandoned even though some in the league thought the trade might go through. The talks are an indication of what Carolina has in mind for Lucas, who is scheduled to make $5.6 million in base salary this season. If Carolina cuts Lucas this week, it will free up $2.375 million against its salary cap. For a team desperately searching for space, Lucas provides some of it.
The Redskins scheduled a Friday visit for free-agent DE Chris Canty. The four-year NFL veteran was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 2005 and is regarded as the second-best free-agent defensive lineman.Washington likely will not be able to sign Canty and Haynesworth, but Canty will be the Redskins’ first visitor.
The top free-agent interior lineman, Jason Brown, is scheduled to visit the St. Louis Rams on Friday.Speculation has run rampant that St. Louis is the favorite to land Brown, who can play guard or center. The Baltimore Ravens still are interested in re-signing Brown, but St. Louis will have the first opportunity.
The Denver Broncos were active early in free agency, getting visit commitments from Miami Dolphins safety Renaldo Hill, Arizona Cardinals halfback J.J. Arrington and Philadelphia Eagles halfback Correll Buckhalter
The Buffalo Bills began the search for a replacement for guard Derrick Dockery by setting up a Friday visit for Panthers guard Geoff Hangartner. The Bills released Dockery, who was entering the third year of a seven-year, $49 million contract, on Thursday.
The New Orleans Saints opened negotiations with linebacker Jonathan Vilma Friday morning, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers also checked in expressing interest.
Steelers guard Chris Kemoetau went to bed early Friday morning trying to decide between a $4 million-a-year offer from Pittsburgh and the New York Jets. The Steelers had hoped to sign Kemoeatu, who is considered one of the top guards on the market, before free agency.
Baltimore Ravens linebacker Bart Scott received an invitation to visit the Jets, according to a source. He is still considering a $7.5 million a year deal from the Ravens.

It doesn’t appear there will be many options in free agency or the draft that are better than Steltz, who impressed coaches with the progress he made during the second half of his rookie year."
So my question is if Steltz is likely to be our best option and Mike Brown is better then Steltz, then why the (insert loud swear word here) are we not looking at signing him for a low incentive laden deal?

Lewis said later in the day that Scott "still has an offer from Baltimore."Scott arrived at the Jets facility early Friday morning to meet with his former defensive coordinator, Rex Ryan, who is now the head coach of the team.
If he accepts the offer, Scott will leave the Ravens after seven productive years in which he's had 433 tackles and 16 sacks. His best season was in 2006 when he made the Pro Bowl and the All-Pro team. In that season, he had 103 tackles and 9½ sacks.
