8-8 is better than 3-13 which is what the purple penis eaters will end up with. because your whole team is weak, on every side. you let the Bears beat you in a shootout, we put up 48 against you.
on to the real convo, i say 11-5, but i dont think one of the 5 come from the Steelers'
(or the viqueens/for you AP)
shouldnt you be on the Minnesota website, talking to your people, about your teams schedule?April 15, 2009
#13 The Ghost of Halas said . . .It's hard to make too many predictions at this point with an entire draft yet to go. But I would say as everything stands now 11-5 is a realistic result for this team.
I absolutely hate the start of the season for the Bears with two tough games and a west coast trip in the first four. By the same token have you seen the cream puff schedule the Vikings start out with the first five games? @ Cleveland, @ Detroit, SF, GB mnf, and the Rams. It's clear the league is expecting the Williams crew to be out those games for sure.
I love the prime time games though. It must be tough for the queens to see that both Chicago and GB are getting more prime time love then them. ha,ha,ha.April 15, 2009

Another topic.

#36 BDG said . . .10-6 sounds pretty realistic to me right now. Until we get more info. on how our D responds to the coaching changes and who ever lines up at S, and we see how much Bennett, Hester and a receiver to be named later works out. You have to remember even though we could have won against the Falcons (who basically dominated us for 3/4 of that game anyway), T.B., and Carolina to finish 12-4 we could have easily finished 7-9 too if we didn't squeak by the Eagles that were missing Westbrook and come back from way down to a horrible Detroit team. So being realistic 10-6 sounds about right for now but the potential is there if we can come together as a team quickly (and stay healthy of course) to go 12-4 with this schedule.

The NFC North... the other two games:
Bears - Falcons and Eagles (Bye week 5)
Packers - Bucs and Cowboys (Bye week 5)
Vikings - Panthers and Giants (Bye week 9)
Lions - Saints and Redskins (Bye week 7)
Draft Patrick Turner with one of the 5th round picks.Patrick Turner, WR, USC, Height: 6-5 1/8 | Weight: 223
Good athlete...Great size and bulk with a huge frame...Runs excellent routes...Very strong, physical and aggressive...Terrific ball skills and body control...Good hands...Plays a little faster than he times...Runs with some power...Can beat the jam...Tough and will work the middle.
April 15, 2009
#39 Brad said . . .Somewhere between 9-7 and 12-4; a lot will depend on who they draft and how much real impact Marinelli makes.
We need an impact receiver in the second, period. After that we can take the best atheletes, hopefully a FS, a fast DE, and possibly another WR or power FB.
I have been reading a lot about QBs and have seen a guy I watched quite a bit fall through the cracks. Graham Harrell, he could be a definate sleeper if we can get him in 6 or 7 (not impossible since noone is considering him) I would take him in a second that late. He ran a complicated spread in college but given time I think he could at least be a great backup or trade bait ala Cassell.

#46 BDG said . . .I find predicting records based on the schedule to be an absolute waste of time. The NFL is such a week-to-week proposition depending upon who went down the previous week or what key
player(s) didn't survive the preseason.
How promising did last season look after going into Indy on a Sunday night and beating the Colts?
And so many unanswered questions. Who's the wideout opposite Hester? How many games will Pace be able to start? Is Chris Williams the next Jimbo Covert or Keith Van Horne or is he another Marc Columbo or Stan Thomas? Will Rod Marinelli be able to get a pass rush out of the returning D-Line? Do the Bears find another Matt Forte in this year's draft? Best prediction: They'll start the season 0-0. How they finish is anybody's GUESS.April 15, 2009
#47 The Ghost of Halas said . . .Love the Turner idea. Based on his potential he may go a bit higher but it should be somewhere around there. If we get one of the WR's that is expected to be there around 49 then I would love to see us come back and grab a BIG target in one of the following rounds like Turner 4 or 5 or even Ramses in round 3
Lose our first 4?? Smoke crack much. If we lose to Detroit @ home in week 4 I will drink a bottle of Dave's Insanity Sauce. Worse case scenario is we split 2-2 the first 4. I can't see Seattle beating us either. The early bye week is the biggest downer about the schedule for me, but at the same time if we do struggle coming out of the gate it could turn into a blessing. I'm a little surprised everyone has us beating ATL in ATL. That game really worries me. They are a very solid team that should only be better this year and I here they will probably add Tony Gonzalez soon. I'm a big fan of Matt Ryan so I think we will have to be firing on all cylinders when we play themApril 15, 2009
#48 Urlacher FTW said . . .Terrible record of night games, Murph? Since 2005 the Bears have gone 9-5 in primtime...the worst season being 2007, of course when they went 1-3 after 7.00 p.m. I have visions of '06 Arizona and '08 Indianapolis dancing in my head. I think you have too many bad 2007 memories. Ha.

#49 Reverend Dave said . . .Albert I don't think last year looked real great after game 1. Maybe the D but KO still hadn't thrown a TD pass. And after game 2 when Olsen and the D crapped the bed, I think it took shape pretty well for how the season would go.
But no you can't tell anything, look at mid season for our division alone. 3 teams at like 5-4 or so, then GB only wins 1 more game the rest of the season. Only thing that really scares me is look at GB last year.. good QB, great WRs, good RB, and they win 6 games. Look at us going in good QB, great RB, poor WRs. We have to get a wideout or 2 or picking up JC does nothing for us.April 15, 2009
#50 The Ghost of Halas said . . .Murph -
Last year we won Sunday night games against Colts and Eagles, lost Sunday night to Vikings, beat the Saints on a Thurs and won on MNF against the Packers. (4-1)
2007 1 win (Packers MNF); 3 Losses (Cowboys, Redskins, Vikings)
2006 4 Wins (Seahawks, Cardinals, Giants, Rams); 1 Loss (Packers)That's 9-5 over the last three years. That's not terrible.

Putting Marc Columbo and Stan "Offsides" Thomas in the same catergory is wrong. Columbo is a hard-working O-lineman who overcame a horrific injury that was suppose to end his career, only to start again for a very good O-line in Dallas. Stan Thomas was just a very bad draft-day decision.
I get your point, but we would be well served if Chris Williams turns out to have half of Columbo's heart.
